Net work is the work done on a body by the net force acting on that body. It can be calculated by summing the work done by each individual force. If the forces acting on a body are F1, F2, F3… and the work done be each force is W1, W2, W3 … respectively, then the net work is given by
Wnet = W1 + W2 + W3 + ….
Note: If the net force on the body is known, the net work can also be calculated using
Wnet = Fnet·d = Fnet*d*cos(q)
where d is the displacement of the body and q is the angle between Fnet and d. However this equivalent formula is not used in Andes solutions.
