Energy Stored on a Capacitor

The energy, Uc, stored on a capacitor is given by

    Uc = 0.5*q*V

Where V is the voltage across the capacitor.  

NOTE:  Andes treats the equation above as the "fundamental equation" for energy stored on a capacitor.  However, using the relation

    q = C*V

other forms that are possible are

    Uc = 0.5*q^2/C and

    Uc = 0.5*C*V^2.
